A slightly better day 2.
Putting a shocking day 1 behind us we knew that we could do better and that we would have to with a quick Christs boat behind us.
Having only 2 people to bank party you is not usually a great start to the race, however, we were pushed out and ready with no problems.
Going off top station meant that by the time we had finished our start routine (which we actually managed to finish today!) we were already on first post corner. A scrappy corner meant a second settle was called for as we got onto the straight and at this point Christs got their first whistle on us. As we settled into our rhythm we slowed their advance, however, they were slightly quicker than us. Round grassy and along plough reach they kept on creeping up on us. Outside the plough they had two whistles and we made our move to counter them. This slowed their advance and we held them for a bit. However, the power could not be sustained and they slowly ground us down, moving up on us around Ditton and finally catching us on the top sections on the reach.
A better row in all today, just a shame it was ahead of a slightly faster boat.
