Excellent row ends the week on a high for M2
A slightly scrappy but strong start had us on station with Robinson M2, but gaining slightly on CCAT. More excellent lines from Esme and power from the bows had us gain a whistle on CCAT into plough reach. Behind us however, Robinson M2 were gaining and got a whistle too.
Annoyingly, as we were still gaining on them, CCAT bumped out. Esme avoided the carnage and calls from the bank to focus on our boat as we rowed through really helped and we began to hold Robinson at a constant distance of just over a length.
Onto the reach and we settled again at a powerfull, sustainable rate with Robinson tiring behind. Down the reach we gradually extended away and a huge push off the railway bridge had us 3 lengths clear. This was enough to fill the boat with confidence and the boat speed never fell from this point on. We gained substantially on St Edmunds ahead of us and finished a good 5 lengths clear of Robinson.
M2 dug deep today to pull out a result that our rows over the week had deserved.
Bring on HoRR!
