First time rowers at SCBC

If you're reading this, chances are you're thinking about trying rowing at Selwyn. Good choice! Roughly half the people in Cambridge row at some point during their degree. It's by far the most popular sport in the University, and for good reason. Rowing is a lot of fun, both on the water and off it.

In Michaelmas term we always have a number of novice crews, made up of people who have never rowed before. You don't need to have any experience, or even be sporty or very fit. You will get lots of coaching and practice throughout the term. There's also plenty of chances to take part in races against novice crews from other colleges as well.

As a novice rower, you'll also have a busy social schedule, with plenty of dinners, swaps, coctail nights, bops, drinks, formals... The list goes on!
