Outings
VIII outingOn Saturday 27th September 2008 an alumni VIII and an alumni IV both had outings and had the chance to spar against several Fitzwilliam Alumni Crews. The VIII was comprised of rowers who matriculated in 1998 while the IV included rowers from the 1960’s as well as featuring Chris Lloyd, Selwyn boatman.
The IV did especially well, beating a Peterhouse IV over 600m down the reach and drawing with the Fitz alumni IV. The Selwyn VIII were unlucky to lose to Fitz VIII but overall everyone had a great afternoon of rowing in the sun.

Alumni crews go out every year during September and usually have the opportunity to spar against some Fitz crews. If you are interested in being involved in this next year then get in touch with Roger Snelson via the SCBC Henley Fund Officer.
Dinner
A dinner is held on alternate years for members of the Permanent Henley Fund. The last dinner took place in Selwyn on the Saturday of The May Bumps in 2009. This saw the return of several crews, in particular those from 1959, 1969 and 1979. Both the 1969 and 1959 crews were celebrating anniversaries since winning 1st VIII blades.
The dinner was held jointly with members of the current club, and during the dinner we had speeches from members of the Henley Fund committee and as well as from Adam Clifton, Mens’ and Overall Boat Club Captain.
The following morning nine of those who came to the dinner took a boat out and had a very successful outing.
